I am Arun Madale Muthu.C S/O Chowrappa. Every person will have his/her own past life, even I have my past life story. In my family there are six members my father, mother, sister, brother and myself. We are four children in our family but nobody studied till graduation. But I studied with the help of ASHA Sponsorship Program. ASHA Sponsorship Program is the back bone for my studies. They have been helping me for my studies. In my family we have very poor condition in my small age because we were living in the mud house and we did not have proper basic facilities at that time. My parents struggled a lot for my studies. My parents had a thought that I have to become a priest and even I had an aim to become a priest. From 1st standard to 3rd standard I studied in my village only then I went to Bangalore to study, but there also my parish priest told me to study in Kannada medium because English was difficult for me at that time. But I had interest to study in English medium. Till 10th standard I studied in Kannada Medium School. During my school studies I have participated in singing, drama, essay writing etc. When I was studying in 10th standard, catechism exam was conducted from Bishops House. I wrote the exam and got “A” Grade and received certificate in the exam.

After my 10th standard my parents told me you should become a priest but that time my mind was disturbed by a father, he told me that first you know about daily life then you can join for seminary. So I did not join for seminary. Then I joined 1st PUC in St. Joseph’s Evening College with the help of ASHA Charitable Trust because at that time I did not have cash to pay the college fees. In that difficult situation ASHA Children’s Sponsorship Program selected me as a sponsored child. Then through their help I paid the school fees and studied well and passed. After finishing 1st PUC I came to 2nd PUC. I had English problem in 2nd PUC because it was English Medium College. However I worked hard, studied well and passed my 2nd PUC in 2nd class. Without this ASHA Children’s Sponsorship Program I couldn’t have completed my PUC, so am very much grateful to them for helping me. Then from 1st PUC I started to get help from ASHA Children’s Sponsorship Program. Every year in Summer and Dasara Holiday they conduct camps for us they give guidelines and many gifts for me. With their help I decided to do my BA because I don’t know accounts to join B.Com. All my friends told me to join B.Com so that I will get a good job after finishing. But unfortunately I joined for BA and completed my BA Graduation with good marks and in every semester I got first class marks because of ASHA Children’s Sponsorship. In the same way ASHA Children’s Sponsorship scheme is like a tree and in that I am a leaf because ASHA Sponsorship is helping so many children. So I am very grateful to ASHA.

Since I had interest to study and teach, I am intending to do my studies, after finishing my BA (graduation) I was really happy to do B.Ed. ASHA Children’s Sponsorship helped me to move forward and study. “Work is worship it is the time which shows interest on our life. So like that only in my life also it showed a great interest in studies. So like that only now I am ready to achieve something in life as a good teacher. This year I am doing B.Ed. I have faced so many problems regarding my studies; I did not have books and materials to study. But now my problem all is cleared. When I completed my degree my brother told don’t study go for work, but I did not live my studies I planned not to live my studies at any cost because I had lots of interest to study. During that time the only thought which I had was, my dream of becoming a Priest was not fulfilled, but however now I have a dream to become a teacher, so at any cost I have to do my best and become a teacher. ASHA Children’s Sponsorship is like my parents. I will not forget, because it was back bone for my studies. Now am preparing to write my exam, after finishing B. Ed I am planning to do M.A. in history. Above all I am really very much thankful to ASHA Children’s Sponsorship Program.

ASHA Charitable Trust has always taught me to be grateful to the Sponsors who have been helping children like us through ASHA Charitable Trust. During each camp and programs conducted by ASHA Charitable Trust we were explained about the generosity of the Donors. I will remain ever grateful to my donors and I will pray for them all through my life. I will make my donors proud, May God Bless my donors.
