Christmas Get-Together: On 09th December, 2018 we had Christmas Program for the sponsored children of ASHA Charitable Trust. It was organized at St. Aloysius Degree, Cox Town, Sarvajna Nagar, Bangalore. 720 sponsored children participated in the Christmas Program. The program was well organized with the support of brothers along with ASHA Staff. The program began with the registration at 8:00 a.m. followed by breakfast. The Eucharistic celebration was at 10:00 a.m. The Cultural Program began at 11:15 a.m. with the ASHA Anthem. The Coordinator of ASHA Charitable Trust led the Chief Guests and Honorable Guests to the dais. The dignitaries on the dais were, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Machado (The president of ASHA Charitable Trust and the Archbishop of Bangalore), Chief Guest- Dr. Joseph V.G. (The Founder and the Chairman of Garden City Group of Institutions), Guests of Honor- Mr. Lokesh an actor from Kannada and Telugu film industry and also an artist from Comedy Khiladigalu, Kannada Reality Show. The ASHA Coordinator honored the Guests with a Shawl, Garland, Bouquets and Mysore Peta. Archbishop Dr. Peter Machado, The president of ASHA Charitable Trust gave a very meaningful Message of Christmas to the gathering. He explained the children about the importance of education and the willingness of the donors in helping sponsor children. These donors are not rich people but they are rich in heart.

The Chief Guest Dr. Joseph V. G. (Founder and Chairman of Garden City University and the Honorary Consul to the Republic of Maldives in Bangalore) shared about his childhood. He said that at the very young age i.e., when he was 17 years old, he started to work hard and it is his hard work which made him famous through his Educational Institutions. He encouraged the children to dream big and make it reality through hard work, sincerity and dedication. Today he is able to build many Educational Institutions and students are flocking from different countries to his institutions.

Guest of Honor Mr. Lokesh from Comedy Khiladigalu (Kannada reality show) and a film actor (acted in good number of short films in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu) shared his life story. From foot path he has reached this dias through Don Bosco fathers, who helped him to identify his inborn qualities through education and different trainings. Each opportunity he got however big or small it was he made used of it and gave his best to it. He was talented in acting and drama. He was selected for reality show and become famous in the mind of viewers of Kannada reality show. He encouraged the children cross the barrier of poverty through education to become contributors of the society building through their contribution of

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

This Christmas we just want you to know that you have been the best gift that our Children at ASHA Charitable Trust have ever received. The President, Staff and Sponsored Children of ASHA Charitable Trust wish you and your loved ones peace, health, happiness and prosperity every moment of your lives.

There were 1091 children and 75 animators attended ASHA Christmas and Sponsor day celebration in St. Jermain’s Ground at Coles Park. The Holy Eucharistic was celebrated by the Founder of ASHA Charitable Trust Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras. In his message he expressed his gratitude to God for making the lives of 8381 poor talented children to someone special in the society through education. He wished to continue the good work and bear fruits in 100 fold in the future. Msgr. S. Jayanathan, the Trustee of ASHA Charitable Trust encouraged the children to be God’s children by learning and giving importance to word of God. His interaction with children kept the children active and alive. Children were appreciated for their prompt answers with gifts.

He expressed his gratitude to all the kind hearted people, who have colored the lives of poor children through ASHA Charitable Trust. The plant in the pot was symbolized as ASHA Charitable Trust and donors from Caritas Hradec Kralove and local donor Mrs. Sonia Chacko and family and all those present on the dais were asked to water the plant to make it grow likewise ASHA Charitable Trust to give better future to the needy children to become good citizen of our society. During the Christmas Program we Felicitated our Founder, Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, the President of ASHA Charitable Trust and the Archbishop of Bangalore on his Golden Jubilee of his Priestly Ordination. ASHA children and animators were given Christmas gifts. The delicious meal was served to all present for the ASHA Christmas and Sponsorship day celebration.

The wonderful festival of Christmas is here again bringing with it lots of happy moments and good wishes. Christmas comes once a year. During that time, people of all religions come together to worship Infant Jesus. Christmas is not a time nor season, but a state of mind to cherish peace and kindness, to be plenteous in mercy. Christmas is the proof that this world can become a better place, if we have lots of people like you who have filled the hearts of poor children of Archdiocese of Bangalore with happiness and hope being generous in building their lives on a sure foundation of education.

Your kind soul is a gift no one can ever match.’ “Let us remember that Christmas heart is a giving heart, a wide open heart with love that thinks of others first” says George Mathew Adams. Thousands of poor children from ASHA Charitable Trust smile with gratitude with shining light of education. Today many children have become teachers, engineers, technicians, nurses, towards seminary and religious life and many more are on their way to achieve the desired goal of life through your generous contribution.

Our hearts overflows with joy and love at this Christmas. As we rejoice and celebrate this wonderful season of Christmas, let us not forget to thank baby Jesus for coming into our lives. May this Christmas bring you all the joys of Heaven. May you have angels rejoicing at your doorstep. May you experience the wonder of His abiding love as He guides You and your loved ones through each day of the coming year.
